Over the summer I have been providing workshops and summer schools for confidence building, self-worth, and making your own unique voice and viewpoint be valued and listened to. This was with not business people, but 11 year olds who were about to make the transition from primary to secondary school. It was eminently interesting and poignant to observe that we, whatever our age, share common anxieties, fears and doubts about our abilities and how we are perceived by others. It was rewarding and uplifting to see these young people grow in confidence through the week, to explore their individual gifts, talents and interests, and to hopefully give them a positive start to their first term in Year 7.
