It's scary at the moment isn't it....and there are 2 things you must NOT be doing...wallowing in the news ("like glugging salt water to quench your thirst" (Clare Foges, The Times) and avoid social media and its never-ending supply of ill-informed doom merchants>
What you MUST do however is:
1. Think really hard about how your business can initially survive (thrive comes later) - exuding positivity at all times because you will get through this; keep your head up and focus on the things that matter - your people, your clients and your family
2. Engage with your clients/customers, find out how you can help them and they you. For example, follow the example of a local very well-known restaurant offering 75% discounts to keep the cash coming in, the chiropractor selling 6 session vouchers at 50% off, but paid for in advance, small retail and butcher's shops offering free delivery in the evening; professionals can create to-do lists - physios etc. with offers/vouchers to be bought now for future use; generate flyers because more people will be at home; manage your expenses, but do not turn off the marketing!
3. Adapt your business to reflect the developing scenarios - Zoom or other video services instead of face to face meetings; clearly a garage cannot repair my car that way, but the initial booking/review can be done by video call, the car could be collected/returned; train staff having to stay at home in new technology, systems, processes.
The lists go on, but the key is to think positively about the future and if you need some mentoring to improve your mindset or need to develop effective marketing to crack the rhythmic acquisition of clients/customers/patients, call me - 07515 507 337
