Should I stay or should I go ... ?

Should I stay or should I go ... ?

With momentous decisions being made today at the ballot box it brought to mind a conversation with a friend of mine in a client company that had been making a lot of changes, both to processes and personnel.  He had been feeling very happy in his work and believed that he was both doing well and being seen to do well.

However, a lack of communication about the who, what and why of the changes being made in his company had started to make him feel nervous.  As no-one in his senior team was telling him anything … and other colleagues were contemplating leaving the company rather than waiting until they were pushed … he faced the question that so many have faced before … “Should I stay or should I go?”

What would your advice be for staff in this situation?  Are they better keeping their heads down and hoping that the ill wind of change will blow over them, or should they take their concerns upwards and risk putting themselves in the firing line?
