A wise professor invited six students to a seance; he sat them at a round table, lit a candle in the middle and dimmed the lights.
Then he whispered, "I want you to hold hands, focus on the candle and use concentrated thought alone to extinguish it."
After 10 minutes one of the students ventured, "It's not working!"
The professor leaned forward and blew out the candle.
"Exactly - nothing happens until you physically do something!"
It's all very well having personal goals; written career objectives; a vision for your future; a polished personal brand, but unless you do something nothing will change.
Nothing happens if you continue to procrastinate and just sit there thinking about stuff - you have to be proactive and do something! And please stop asking me how I know all this!
